40 days of wait, what?

This is my mission: once a week for 40 weeks get some grain in my meals. Not hard. We eat the stuff every day. All day. The hard part is thinking about it, getting creative with it, and posting about it. I hope to broaden my grain horizons if you will.
So, what is grain, exactly? We can all name a few, but how is it defined? We'll refer to wikipedia often on this one. Will wheat count? Sure. Corn? Yup. (lets be realistic) But im hopig we are heavy in the Amaranth, quinoa... Other healthy not-wheat-and-corn grains... I'm looking forward to the adventures of finding, cooking and eating new grains.
All this will pale in comparison to the adventure involved with getting my toddler to eat said grains. But that's the drama that will just keep you coming back for more.
